Four Paws Grooming School 

The Four Paws Grooming School offers courses ranging from 5 days to 30 days. Each of their courses offer an iPet Network Level 3 or Level 4 diploma and qualification. As a standard, any course you take with the Four Paws Grooming school will cover the basics of dog grooming, so no prior experience is needed. This includes:

  • Bathing and drying
  • Clipping
  • Scissoring
  • Nail trimming
  • Health and safety for people and pets
  • Animal welfare legislation and best practice

  • Planning dog grooming styles

College of Animal Welfare 

The College of Animal Welfare offers City & Guild accredited dog grooming qualifications that are designed to give you the confidence to undertake a range of bathing and grooming techniques. There is significant emphasis on developing your practical skills throughout your training, giving you the necessary skills and experience to use professional dog grooming equipment to groom a variety of breeds to breed standar or owner requirements. 

City & Guilds 

City & Guilds dog grooming courses can help you become a groomer or build on an existing career as a petpreneur. This training focuses on the principles and practices of modern dog grooming techniques. The Level 2 Certificate of Dog Grooming Assistants is for anyone who wants to start working in the industry. You don’t need prior qualifications for this. The Level 3 Certificate in Introductory Dog Groomer or the Level 3 Diploma for Professional Dog Stylists is suitable for those who have experience of working in the industry, or have completed a related qualification.

Canine Groom School

This in person dog grooming school is based in Lancashire, England. They are an accredited City & Guilds and ICMG training provider and offer a number of courses for beginners with no prior experience through to experienced groomers looking to level up their skillset.

You’ll also receive a free business pack including a dog first aid DVD as well as ongoing post-course support.

Absolutely Animals offer a wide variety of courses ranging from one day training to full 12-month qualifications. This training provider aims to equip you with the skills you need to work to your desired business model, whether than be in a salon, a mobile van, or from your own home. 

GroomArts Academy 

This training provider based in Hertfordshire, England delivers commercially-focused education that ensures the skills you learn can easily be transferred from the classroom to your business. Whether you’re new to dog grooming or would like to build on existing skills GroomArts Academy offers a variety of courses to help you take your grooming business to the next level. 

New Skills Academy 

The New Skills Academy offers a range of CPD approved courses that can be studied from home. All of their animal care courses are supported by a network of knowledgeable tutors and are designed to help you extend your knowledge and understanding of pets. You can combine your studies to cover multiple subject matters including grooming, pet psychology, pet sitting, and pet nutrition, meaning you can diversify the services your business offers.
